Influencer Strategy

When introducting e-portfolios to the high school dance classroom, there are many moving parts that contribute to its success. It is important to keep goals in mind and remember that eportfolios are authentic, creative and always evolving for the better. This is my strategy to help the implementation of eportfolios be a success in an engaging and motivational way.

Goal

90% of my High School dance  students will create an authentic eportfolio to showcase their growth, improve communication and enhance creativity.

Relevancy: Show how the students will be able to continue using their e-portfolio even after high school. Allow teachers and admin to see the flexibility eportfolios have to offer and be clear on what exactly they can be used for.

Peer and admin review: Share accomplishments and e-portfolio work with peers, admin and students. Establishing relationships with admin and showing the clear vision of e-portfolios used in dance.

Ability

Support: Offer trainings, and feedback. Show what e-portfolios have to offer by modeling how to set one up effectively. Having an open door policy will also help others adopt a growth midset.

Collaboration: Set up meetings for collaboration. Assign group projects to promote communication. Allow time for frequent peer feeback to talk about any challenges faced. 

Motivation

Incentives: Class challenges for students using individualized, a visible goals sheet. Highlighting the acheievements of progress.  

Simplicity: Allow students to share their learning. Choose a program that is very easy to use for eportfolio creation. Make sure that the students have the necessary technology as well as having a classroom set for back up.
